* RARE DOUBLE CASED PAIR OF HAMMERLESS GUNS BY W. & C. SCOTT & SON
Serial #77312 and #77313. Gun #1: Barrel stamped New Barrels by Holland & Holland, 13 Bruton Street, London. Blued finish to barrels. Checkered walnut forestock fore-end tip engraved in gold with 1. Tip lever scroll engraved and inlaid with gold 1. Box-lock action. Side plates engraved with quail, partridge, woodcock, rails, mallards and geese. Scroll engraved and stamped W. & C. Scott and Son. Base decorated with scrolls, three pheasants and a mallard. Double trigger. Trigger guard decorated with partridge. Enelish-style walnut stock with checking at wrist and inlaid gold shield on comb. Barrel length 28. Gun #2 same as Gun #1,except engraved 2 on forestock fore-end tip and on tip lever. Finish shows some wear to end of barrels, general wear overall. Together with fitted Holland & Holland case. Lot purchased by father of consignor in London, 1963.
