FRAMED PAINTING Flemish, Early 18th Century A gamekeeper wearing a tricorn hat and holding a hare in his right hand and a gun in his left hand, with a basket filled with birds lying at his feet. Signed lower left "Pet... S.....". Possibly Petrus Snyers (Flemish, 1681-1752). Needs restoration. Oil on canvas, 49" x 39".


12" tear at the chest of the figure, repaired and patched from reverse. Another unrepaired tear above the basket. Heavily inpainted and varnished. Wax reline. Warped and crazed throughout, with light alligatoring.
