(VOYAGES) (Bechervaise, John) Thirty-Six Years of an Old Quartermaster. 'The Simple Truth.' Portsea, 1839. Published by W. Woodward. The author first went to sea in 1803. He made a voyage to Newfoundland and wintered there with the Indians. Further voyages include another to Canada, and, most importantly, an expedition with Beechy in the 'Blossom' to the Pacific and Arctic. Bechervaise gives good accounts of visits on this expedition. Included visits to Brazil, Easter Island, Pitcairn, Tahiti, Hawaii, Kamchatka, California, the Northwest Coast and China. O. Some spotting. Modern red cloth spine with boards.
