19TH CENTURY EBONY "T" FRAME SEXTANT BY SPENCER BROWNING

Signed on an inset ivory plaque on the cross support "Spencer - Browning & Co. London.", the ebony "T" frame with inset ivory scale calibrated from 0-100 degrees, with a brass radius arm with clamp and tangent screws, pencil with ivory handle, mirrors, filters, and peep hole sight. Contained within the original shaped box with hinged lid, and a trade label for Samuel Thaxter & Son, State Street, Boston.
Height 11". Width of arc 10". The box Height 4". Width 11.75". Depth 13".
Condition: Overall good condition, missing 2 of the brass feet, the inset ivory note plaque and one filter.
