POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH WITH NAVAL SCENES

Obverse depicts a naval battle between an American and a dismasted British ship, both engulfed in smoke and flying colored flags and streamers. Some pinpoint execution. Reverse depicts a ship on a dead run. On both sides the water is depicted as a defined oval. Rich patina.
Length 6".
Condition: Uneven patina with some discoloration. Age lines/cracks extending from the base, the longest approx. 1.25". Base with small nicks and chips, as typical. Typical faint age lines at tip. Unidentified collection sticker in hollow.
