SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH ATTRIBUTED TO THE NAVAL MONUMENT ENGRAVER

Obverse depicts the "Constitution and Guerriere in Close Engagement.", showing the Constitution firing at the badly damaged Guerriere during the famed War of 1812 naval battle. Reverse depicts "View of the Ruins of Balbec.", showing figures within the Roman temple complex at Baalbek. Subtle line borders at sides and lower edge. Both scenes titled in serif lettering below.
Length 7.25".
Condition: Fractured at tip, with age lines and cracks, some extending far into the length of the tooth. Typical uneven base with chips. **Not available for international shipping.**
