Signed lower right "Annie Shaw". This work is possibly "Illinois Prairie", which was exhibited at the 1877 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. Shaw was the first woman to be elected a full membership to the Chicago Academy of Design, now the Art Institute of Chicago.
Oil on canvas, 25" x 42". Framed 31" x 48".
Condition: Relined. UV light reveals varnish inconsistencies.
