crossed harpoons. One initialed "AFC"; the other "GHC". The base is inlaid with whalebone and contrasting woods. Made by George H. Clark of New Bedford. He was master of the whaling barks. "Roscoe" and "Dragon", and the whaleships "Sallie Anne", "Henry Kneeland", and "Bart Gosnold". His career as a captain covered the years 1839-1862. The teeth were found in the Harwich, Massachusetts area. Teeth are 6" tall. The base measures 10.5" across. [Illustrated].
