POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH

Obverse depicts a three-masted ship under sail, flying assorted flags and pennants from the masts and an American flag off the stern. Reverse depicts a floral and foliate garland above a bust portrait of a man wearing a Highland bonnet and a neckerchief. The man's lips, the pompom on his hat and some of the floral elements are colored red, and the neckerchief has some faint blue coloring. Tip engraved to resemble a bird's head and beak.
Length 6".
Condition: Typical uneveness at base. Thin age crack on reverse, approx. 1.25", extending into scene.
