RARE DANIEL TORIN BRASS-FINISH PEDESTAL CLOCK

Works marked "Torin London" (Daniel Torin, 1721-1763). Case adorned with semi-precious stones including malachite, garnet, lapis, amethyst and turquoise, and a carved carnelian medallion on the reverse. Highly engraved case supported on four elephant's-head feet.
Height 12.75".
Condition: Not guaranteed to be working. Some wear to middle of the finish.

  • Provenance: Torin is listed in Britten's "Old Clocks and Watches and Their Makers" as being located in Hoxton Square in London in 1766.
