AS A MEMBER OF THE SACREMENTO MINING AND ASSAYING ASSOCIATION CONSISTING OF 40 MEMBERS. Kept by Humphrey Hill [?]. Started on April 29, 1849 and ending on March 1, 1850, the day before he was to leave for the mines. The ship arrived in San Francisco on December 8, and intervening time was taken up in discharging cargo and waiting out a rainy period. The journey out had the usual storms and crew problems. A very interesting journal. Folio. 60 pages. Another partial journal and poetry are included on later pages.
