1) "Map Illustrating the New England Charter Claims West of the Delaware". Believed to have been removed from "History of Wyoming In a Series of Letters, from Charles Miner, to his Son William Penn Miner, Esq." published in 1845 by J. Crissy. Hand-colored. 8.5" x 21.5".

2) "River Systems of Maine to Illustrate 'Wells's Water Power of Maine'". Prepared by G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co., New York. Circa 1855. Colored map of Maine, with some parts of Canada and New Hampshire. Decorative margin. 16" x 14".

3) "Map of the Route Pursued By the Late Expedition under the command of Col. S.W. Kearny, U.S. 1st Dragoons ...". By W.B. Franklin, who was attached to the Expedition. Dated 1845. Depicts Independence and Ft. Leavenworth west of the Missouri River to the Black Hills and the Wind River Mts. 9.25" x 14.5".

4) "B Sketch of the Public Surveys in Michigan". Circa 1854. Depicts land masses around Lakes Michigan, Huron, Superior, St. Clair and Erie. 22.5" x 23.5".

5) "Map of the County of Herkimer by David H. Burr". Circa 1829. Engraved by Rawdon Clark & Co., et al, New York. Believed to have been removed from Burr's "An Atlas of the State of New York ...", the second atlas of an individual state ever published. Hand-colored. Depicts Herkimer County in central New York. 22" x 31".
6) Book of "Maps Andrews Report". Accompanied the report Israel D. Andrews provided to Congress in 1853 on trade and commerce. Contains two large folding maps: "Map of the Railroads in the United States" and "Map of the Basin of the St. Lawrence". O. Brown boards with gilt title.

Condition: Age-typical wear, including toning, foxing, soiling, creasing, uneven edges, etc.
1) Folding map now in three parts due to tears and loss along creases. One tear repaired with yellow duct tape. Pencil markings.
2) Unevenly trimmed on left margin. Printed on thin tissue paper. Folded. Removed from a pamphlet.
3) Believed to have been removed from a book. Period ink inscription verso, which is visible from the front.
4) Folded. Believed to have been removed from a book.
5) One fold along vertical center. Some offsetting of type and soiling along edges, but obverse is generally well preserved. Reverse with pencil inscriptions and other soiling, not visible from the front. Small chips along edges, with one larger tear approx. 1" on left.
6) Maps are difficult to unfold, given their size and how delicate they are. Some maps from the original publication have been removed. Binding worn.

We require prompt payment and removal of your purchases as stated in Paragraph 12 of the Conditions of Sale. If you plan to pick up your purchases, please call ahead and we'll make every effort to have your items ready. Our physical address is 1483 Route 6A, East Dennis, MA. Pick up of smaller items at our Mystic, CT location is also available with advance notice.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide shipping quotes until the invoice had been paid in full.
In house shipping is offered exclusively though UPS. All items are shipped with UPS insurance (max. $50,000). UPS insurance is billed at $2.70 for the first $100 and at $0.90 per hundred afterwards. Eldred's charges a minium $15 handling fee per package plus actual UPS shipping charges.
COLLECTION OF PURCHASES: Delivery or shipping arrangements must be made within seven (7) days from the close of the auction for all purchases. All items must be removed from Eldred's facilities within fourteen (14) days of the end of the auction. All items remaining after fourteen days may be subject to a $5/per item/per day storage fee. No items will be released unless storage fees are paid in full. Items remaining over thirty (30) days from the close of the auction may be sold for the buyer's account minus auction and storage fees.
