WATERCOLOR PORTRAIT OF THE U.S.S. CONSTITUTION
A port view of the ship flying multiple flags, including a long pennant from the center mast and an American flag off the stern. Two additional sailing vessels, one flying a large American flag, are visible off the bow, and a tree-lined fort flying an American flag is visible off the stern. Inscribed along bottom "Artist John Chaney. US Ship Constitution. 52 Guns. Built 1813." Accompanied by a letter from James Julia indicating the painting descended in the White family of Bangor, Maine. 15" x 22.25" sight. Framed 23" x 30".
